INDICATIONS 

•  tooth with deep susceptible pit or fissure (groove), hard to clean
• often a bristle of a tooth brush is too large to effectively clean such areas
• most commonly recommended in children or adolescents

PROCEDURE  

• NO anesthetic required
• fissure cleaned
• etched
• protective resin applied

PROCEDURE continued   

• resin is set and bonded to tooth with a curing light

• protective resin in place, surface easier to clean 
• significant less chance of decay
