Veneers are thin custom made porcelain laminates (shells) which are bonded to the teeth and crafted to improve their appearance and function. Although treatment utilizing veneers is often cosmetically motivated, they are also a valuable treatment option in restoring a worn dentition to proper function and occlusion, and when indicated, are a more conservative option than crowns. Veneers can be used to improve teeth that are:                                    

• misshapen                                                                                  
• inappropriately spaced or gapped
• worn or chipped
• discoloured

Treatment consists of:

• esthetic/smile analysis, evaluation and diagnostic wax up depending on complexity of case
• preparing teeth by reducing proper amount of tooth structure to allow for desired final result
• impression of preparations
• provisionalization of prepared teeth
• crafting of custom made veneer restorations by a dental ceramist
• try in and bonding of porcelain veneers to prepared teeth
